Project 1 2012 List of Chinese surnames
This is going to be our first project in the new semester, finding us a Chinese name!
Our FIRST task is to choose a Chinese family name that is close to our English family name, if possible.
By being close I mean, the Chinese family name we choose sounds similar to at least one of the syllables in our English names.
Here are all the commonly used Chinese surnames found on wikipedia for you reference.
1. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_common_Chinese_surnames
2. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hundred_Family_Surnames
The second stage is to find yourself a first name. There are no set first names in Chinese, so you have to find characters you like and create your own. If you find website useful for creating first names. Please share it with everyone here.
1. Common names for girls: http://www.chinesetimeschool.com/language/zh-CN/learn/chinese/My-Community/article/tabid/385/id/705/columnid/15/Learning-Chinese/Chinese-Name-Chinese-Girl-names-and-meanings/Default.aspx
